Hi, I’m monica weatherspoon.
I am an Interior Designer by profession who believes in utilizing all of my God given gifts and talents. With that in mind I have expanded my professions in ways that include other specialties such as Wallpaper Designer, Author, Illustrator, Podcaster and Publisher. The author
A dream that I’ve had since I was a little girl was to write a book. I was always writing stories and poems as a child. I even joined the writing club in high school and entered several poems and short stories. I even wrote a play that was performed at the school. As an adult, that dream stayed in the back of my mind until one day I decided to do something about the years of research. I thought it would be a great way to give back to the generations coming behind me. In the beginning of 2023 I began writing and at the completion of that year I had authored, illustrated and published 5 books! The illustrator
Since 3 of the books I decided to write were children’s books, it seemed only fitting to draw the images to the story I created. I am an author who cares about representing the world through the eyes of people like me, an African American and Christian woman. I understand the importance of reflecting those images to our youth. Most of my favorite books as a child were headlined by animals and I think that is largely because there weren’t any books that showed anyone like me. It was so rewarding to be well represented in the books I authored and illustrated. I would love to hear your thoughts about them. You can find them here:
The wallpaper designer
Something I have always done since I was a child was to draw in patterns and colors. I decided that the constant need for completion of my interior design projects could only be met with wallpaper created to go with my room visions. The podcaster
When Covid hit the world in 2020 I thought it would be a good time to do something I have always wanted to do, start a podcast. The Boss’s Seat Podcast is a platform that gives insight to those who may be considering going from an employee to a business owner. Covering topics and giving consideration to doing business and making sound decisions.
